Privacy policy

Focus Forward is a one-person business run by Hector Lopez in Dallas, Texas. "We" and "us" means Focus Forward. Questions? Email focusforward.help@gmail.com.

What we collect, and why

When you visit the site

• Our host, Cloudflare, handles every page request. Like any web host, it processes technical info such as your IP address and browser to deliver the page and keep the site secure.
• We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see which pages get visits and how fast they load. It uses no cookies and doesn't track you across sites or build a profile of you. It records things like the page, where you came from, your country, and your browser and device type, so we see totals, not you.

When you buy something

• Purchases happen on Gumroad, and payments go through Gumroad's payment processor (Stripe).
• Gumroad shares with us what any store needs: your name, email, billing details (like country and postal code), what you bought, and when. We use it to deliver your files, handle refunds and support, and keep tax and sales records.
• We never see or store your full card number.

When you join the email list

• We collect your email address (and your first name, if you give it).
• Our email tool, Kit, also records when and where you signed up, when you confirmed, and whether you open or click our emails. That's how we know if emails are landing and which ones are useful.
• We use it to send you the free sheet, plus emails from Focus Forward once a week: tips, new tools, and product news.
• Double opt-in: you confirm by email before you're on the list. No confirm, no emails.

When you email us

• We get your email address and whatever you write. Our inbox is Gmail, run by Google. We use it only to answer you.

What we don't do

• We don't sell or rent your personal info. Ever.
• We don't add buyers to the email list unless they sign up themselves.
• We don't collect sensitive info, and we never ask about health or diagnoses.
• We don't run ads that track you on our site.

Cookies

Our own site doesn't set cookies. Gumroad (checkout) and Kit (email signup and confirmation pages) may use their own cookies on their pages to work properly and stay secure. Their policies are linked below.

Who helps us run things

We use a few trusted services. Each one gets only what it needs to do its job.

• Cloudflare: hosts the website and runs our cookie-free analytics. Privacy policy
• Gumroad (+ Stripe): checkout, payments, file delivery for paid products. Privacy policy
• Kit: email list, signup confirmation, free sheet delivery. Privacy policy
• Google (Gmail): our support inbox. Privacy policy

We may also share info if the law requires it, or to protect against fraud or abuse. These services are based in the United States, so your info may be processed there.

How long we keep it

• Email list: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. After you unsubscribe, the tool may keep your address on a "do not email" list so you're not emailed again by accident.
• Purchase records: as long as we need them for taxes, refunds and the law (often several years).
• Support emails: as long as they're useful for helping you, then deleted.
• Analytics: totals only, nothing that identifies you.

Your choices and rights

• Unsubscribe from any email with the link at the bottom.
• Ask us to see, fix, export or delete your info: email focusforward.help@gmail.com. We'll answer within 30 days, usually much faster.
• Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK, or US states like California), you may have extra rights, such as objecting to how we use your info or complaining to your local data protection authority. We'll honor those requests wherever we can, wherever you live.
• Legal basis (for EU/UK visitors): we send marketing email because you consented (and confirmed). We process purchases to fulfill your order and meet legal obligations. Basic site security and anonymous analytics rest on our legitimate interest in running a working, safe site.

Kids

Focus Forward isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect info from them. If you think a child signed up, email us and we'll delete it.

Keeping it safe

We use well-known services with strong security, and keep our own access tight. No system is perfect, but we only collect what we need, which keeps the risk small.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. Big changes (like adding ad tracking) get announced on this page before they start.
